However, it is 12.5% taller than the vanilla map, and somewhat more compressed towards the poles, allowing the continents to be placed properly in relation to each other. It is functionally and aesthetically very similar to the modified Miller Projection used in vanilla. A completely new map projection, the Braun Stereographic Projection, made from scratch. I can offer more detailed documentation of specific changes, links to sources, and other support to anyone wishing to use this map, provided I have the time. I only ask that the base maps be properly attributed to me. Any modder has my permission to use it as part of another mod. In addition to being an improvement for the player, this map is also designed to be a resource for other modders, and a number of mods already use a version of this map as a base. Game balance is unchanged, except to the degree that different province terrain will effect battles, and the positions of the continents will effect colonization. The focus is on physical geography, not political geography. Unlike many map mods, it does not majorly change the province layout.
#Gfx overhaul and typus orbis terrarum mod
The original purpose of this mod was to create a new map that corrects the some of the more egregious geographical distortions in the "form of the world" of the vanilla, including, but not limited to: The relative position of the Americas, the size of Australia, and the severe distortions in Patagonia and Siberia. Ortelius was the creator of the first modern atlas, as well as the first person to propose the theory of continental drift. It was the name of the first map made by the Flemish cartographer, Abraham Ortelius, published in 1564. "Typus Orbis Terrarum" roughly translates to "The Form of the World" in English. MORE INFORMATION (via the original Workshop page): All credit for this mod goes to bizarcasm. I updated the mod however, I do not take credit for making it.

#Gfx overhaul and typus orbis terrarum update
Thank you for continuing to submit bug reports!ĭESCRIPTION: This is a third-party update for the map projection mod Typus Orbis Terrarum to 1.29 Manchu, as the original creator has been inactive since before the update. Perhaps do a UTX and Global Vector cost comparison to see which will give you what you are looking for. There are most likely still bugs and bad positions, and I am still working on a solution to some of the issues that have been reported.

I would say you should buy UTX packages and Global but I don't have a full understanding of the new Orbx Vector and how much it will cost. Global is soon going to be enhanced by its own version of vector elements which will then make UTX mostly unnecessary. Many users of Global textures are also using UTX which improves greatly the vector elements of you sim. A good understanding of the three is important to knowing what you might want to do with your sim. You should go to Flight1 website and read up on GEX, UTX and head over to Orbx and read up on Global.

GEX and Global are not compatible, only one can be running on your sim at a time as one replaces the other. This is similar to GEX which also does the same thing. Global replaces the default texture sets with all new versions. UTX is mostly vector scenery, ie coastlines, lakes, roads, creeks and rivers, hydrolines.however they do include some custom textures that can be turned on and off.
